IT Departments Need To Get Creative
Despite the increasing number of cyber attacks, the budget for IT departments is generally being cut.
- In 2020, spending by large companies (1,000 employees or more) decreased by an average of 26% compared to the previous year.
- In small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs with 50 to 999 employees), the IT budget was also reduced by around 10%.
- Expenditures for IT departments and information security are expected to be reduced this year as well.
In short, this development means that IT teams are expected to do more with fewer resources.

When it comes to outsourcing, the training courses for permanent InfoSec employees (if there are any) are also crucial to work seamlessly with the MSSP.
Cloud Services Are On The Rise
According to IDT, a leading global media company for information and communication technology, spending on cloud services will consume around 32% of the IT budget in 2021, so it is essential to keep an eye on the monitoring and security of these platforms. Experts emphasize the importance of introducing tools to analyze team member activities – it is, among other things, essential to be informed about the unauthorized use of third-party software and cloud services.
